Brian Tillotson, CPWA®

Certified Private Wealth AdvisorSM

Brian Tillotson is an investment professional with more than 30 years experience in financial management. After graduating from The University of North Texas with a B.B.A. in Finance, he went to work for MBank, which was soon acquired by Bank One. Before leaving Bank One, Brian was the Asset and Liability Manager for Texas. Brian left Bank One to help raise equity for several telecommunication companies. In those roles, he had many responsibilities including mergers and acquisitions, securing bank debt, raising equity through secondary IPOs, and managing investments. Brian managed over $300 million investments during this period. He also served on two different 401(k) committees; responsibilities included consulting firms regarding investment selection, structuring, and risk management.

Brian started Virtus Wealth Management in 2001 to help people work towards their financial goals. Since 2001, Brian and Virtus Wealth Management have served their clients with innovative and sound practical financial strategies with a priority placed on client services. In 2016 Brian and Charles Elhoff merged firms in order to add more experience and expertise in different aspects of wealth management. Brian has been married for 30 years to his wife, Amy, and they have three children: Prestyn, 24 Dylan, 21 and Laney 12.

Brian Tillotson earned the CPWA® Certified Private Wealth AdvisorSM designation in 2011. Brian also holds the Series 7 and 63 registrations with LPL Financial, and Series 66 registration with both LPL Financial and Level Four Advisory Services, and is a licensed general lines insurance agent. Brian is a registered representative with LPL Financial.

Charles Elhoff, CFP®, ChFC, CLU

Wealth Advisor

Since 1974, Charles Elhoff has been helping clients reduce the stress of managing complex financial affairs by providing high touch financial management. The goal is to give clients the planning necessary for a full and satisfying life.

Through a highly participatory process, Mr. Elhoff helps clients make sure they are following suitable financial strategies. He helps clients develop a risk-adjusted plan designed to provide an efficient and effective blueprint to improving the capability of their wealth-creation goals.

A mechanical engineering graduate of South Dakota State University, Mr. Elhoff began his financial services career in 1974 with Connecticut General. Since receiving his Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Charter Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations, he has been offering wealth management services for successful individuals and entrepreneurial business and professionals.

Long active in the community, Mr. Elhoff has served as chairman of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and was the chamber's 1994 Member of the Year. He also served as Finance Chairman of Arlington YMCA, was a member of the Citizens Budget Review Committee for the Arlington Independent School District, chaired two school district bond elections, and was awarded Lifetime Membership in the Texas PTA. He also is a past president of the Arlington North Rotary Club, and is currently a member of the Southlake Rotary Club.

Articles written by Mr. Elhoff have been published in the Fort Worth Business Press and Dallas Business Journal. He also authored the foreword to "Prudent Investors Guide to Beating Wall Street at its Own Game."

Karen Spence, CRPC®

Wealth Advisor

Focused on building relationships, Karen Spence joined the firm in 2006. Karen holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and Computer Information Systems from the University of Arkansas where she was also a collegiate swimmer.

She began her career at Sprint as a Software Engineer and advanced to an Enterprise Architect by understanding the functionality of the systems, partnering with her peers and users, and facilitating cross-domain cooperation and communication. Karen’s strong relationship-building, analytical, and listening skills were the keys to her success at Sprint. Karen left Sprint in 2006 to spend more time with her family and embark on a new career where she could help people.

Karen joined the firm in 2006 and immediately enjoyed the opportunity to work with clients. Trust is something that Karen does not take lightly. She strongly believes in taking care of our clients and feels a responsibility to help them reach their goals. Karen is known for her focus on customer service, attention to detail, and naturally supportive style. She works with clients to implement recommended strategies designed to generate results. Karen continuously keeps the clients’ best interests at the forefront and places a strong emphasis on the overall strategy which always revolves around what the client needs – their individual goals and lifestyles.

Karen also has a heart for education and leads our Ladies’ Finance & Fun events, focused on building confidence in women. She believes the most important part of education is helping our clients use information to make decisions and put their plan into action as they seek to reach their goals.

Karen actively serves in her church community. She is married to Tip, her high school sweetheart, and is the proud mother of three boys. She spends most of her spare time with her family and still enjoys going for a swim every now and then.

Mark Moore, CFP®


Mark Moore, CFP® joined Virtus Wealth Management in 2015. He has over 30 years of financial services experience having worked at Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch, and UBS Financial Services before joining Virtus Wealth Management. Mark’s passion is financial planning. He understands that every client has unique financial goals and dreams and deserves a financial plan just as unique.

Mark graduated from The University of Mississippi with a BA in Biological Sciences and The University of Dallas with an MBA in Financial Services. He went on to serve as an adjunct professor at The University of Dallas Graduate School of Management teaching an introduction to financial planning course. Mark and his wife, Carrie, live in Keller, Texas. They are proud of their two beautiful daughters, Mandy and Maggie. The Moore’s are members of The First United Methodist Church of Keller and are all PADI certified open water scuba divers.

Mark Moore earned the CFP® CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation. He holds the Series 7, 8, 24, 31 and 63 registrations with LPL Financial, and 65 registration with Level Four Advisory Services, as well as the Texas Group 1 Life Insurance License.

Amy Tillotson

Chief Operations Officer

Amy Tillotson co-founded Virtus Wealth Management with her husband, Brian in 2001. She currently serves as the company’s Chief Operations Officer overseeing marketing and special events along with the office management and compliance.

Amy began her career 33 years ago in real estate. Her career included positions with BGI Commercial Real Estate, The Vantage Companies, Bradford Real Estate and Swearingen Real Estate in roles ranging from property management to supporting commercial agents.

Amy has been happily married to Brian for 30 years and they have three children Prestyn, 24 Dylan, 21 and Laney 12. Amy enjoys spending her free time with her dog Mully who is an Akita and gardening.

Josh Hubman, CFP®

Director of Financial Modeling

Josh Hubman joined Virtus Wealth Management in September 2014 in the role of Wealth Management Assistant. Josh has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the State University of New York College at Brockport. He started his career as a Financial Advisor with AXA Advisors, LLC in 2012 (license currently held with LPL Financial).

After obtaining the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2017, Josh has moved into our Director of Financial Modeling position as of April 2018. Josh’s detailed focus and ability to communicate with people made this a perfect role for him. He will support all the advisors in the planning process and work with clients on potential solutions for their financial future as part of our Connect Wealth Process.

He provides assistance in customer service, portfolio analysis, as well as being our main point of contact and specialist for the Virtus Vault, our online financial tool for clients.

Josh is an active member in the Grapevine community, where he lives, volunteering for the town’s festivals.

Josh holds the Series 7 and 63 registrations with LPL Financial and is a licensed general lines insurance agent.

Barbara McCarver

Director of Client Services

For 12 years, Barbara was a supervisor in the accounting and finance department in the corporate office of MSI Data Corporation, a manufacturing firm based in Costa Mesa, California. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA in 1984.

In 1986 Barbara moved from California to Texas and married her husband Joe, they have been happily married for 32 years. Barbara and Joe owned their own company for 13 years that sold products for computers, communication connectivity products and microwave communication equipment.

In 1999, Barbara began working for a financial planner in Fort Worth as a customer service manager before coming to work for Charles Elhoff at EFC Advisors in 2001. In conjunction with the merger of EFC Advisors and Virtus Wealth Management, she became an integral part of the team. Barbara is very excited in her new position and welcomes the opportunity to continue working with all of our clients.

Barbara obtained her Life, LTC, and DI license in 2002.

Prestyn Nicole Tillotson

Director of Communications

After multiple summer internships with the company, Prestyn Tillotson joined Virtus Wealth Management permanently in November 2017. Prestyn received her B.A. in International Studies from the University of Oklahoma in the summer of 2016.

As the company’s new Director of Communications, Prestyn applies her passion for working with people and her past experience in customer service, sales, event planning and marketing. Prestyn intends to strengthen our relationship with clients through social media and other digital outlets.

Prestyn is the eldest child of Virtus Wealth Management founders, Brian and Amy Tillotson. She happily resides in Fort Worth, Texas, where she is training for her first half marathon. Prestyn’s favorite running buddy is her precious Akita, Dessie, whom she rescued from a humane society in Odessa, Texas.
